About Us
Established in the 1930s and owned by Kim and Sam Lippert since 2017, the Panoche Inn is a genuine roadside bar and grill tucked deep in the Panoche Valley.
Cold beer, honest food, and good company — that's what we do. Locals and road-trippers mix at the same bar, dollar bills cover the ceiling, and the jukebox keeps going all day. No dress code. No reservations. No fuss.
The Panoche Valley is prime birdwatching country, and we're a favorite pit stop for motorcyclists, pilots, hunters, and anyone passing through on their way somewhere beautiful. We host regular community events and our famous monthly BBQs from April through September.

Getting Here
🧭 From I-5 (Recommended)
- Take Exit 379 — Little Panoche Road / Shields Ave / Co Hwy J1
- Head west on Co Hwy J1 for about 20.4 miles
- Turn right onto Panoche Road — the Inn will be on your left in 0.5 miles
- Do NOT take "Mercey Springs Road" — it leads nowhere
- Do NOT take the "Panoche Road" exit unless you have a 4x4 and are ready for a river ford
🏞 From Hollister / HWY 25
- Head south on CA-25 for 11.1 miles
- Turn left onto Panoche Road
- Drive 27.4 miles — the Inn will be on your right
🌄 From Fresno
- Take CA-180 West toward Mendota (~34.9 mi)
- Follow Belmont Ave, W Shields Ave, and Co Hwy J1 west (~42.4 mi)
- Turn right onto Panoche Road — the Inn will be on your left in half a mile
🚙 From I-5 (Alt Off-Road — NOT recommended)
Take the Panoche Road exit and go 17.9 miles west.
